MagicBands are amazing little devices and my son has a difficult time putting his away when back home.
MagicBands make our visits convenient because we travel lighter during our Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park touring. They are waterproof wristbands that store your Disney Resort hotel reservations - including your Theme and Water Park Admission, Special Event Admission, Disney Dining Plan Meal Entitlements, Disney PhotoPass Service images and they enable charging privileges to your Disney Resort hotel Guest Room account. Not to mention all those little magical surprises!
You receive a complimentary MagicBand with a stay at a Disney Resort hotel, which you can personalize with My Disney Experience - great fun selecting a colour and name! You also receive one if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, or you can purchase your MagicBand online from Shop Disney, or when at Walt Disney World Resort - and believe me, you'll want one to match all outfits!
If you don't want to wear your MagicBand you can get the fun MagicKeepers accessories which allow you to place the centre icon into a silver carabiner, which you can then wear on a belt loop, a lanyard, messenger bag, handbag or backpack. This is great for Guests with sensory issues that don't want to wear a MagicBand on their wrist.
My son loves wearing his MagicBands and it's a great opportunity for him to reinforce colour identification during the personalization process. He now independently taps his MagicBand and knows how to use his fingerprint for Theme Park entry and know how to enter attractions.
The biggest achievement on our most recent trip for my son was how to utilize Disney's Disability Access Service independently. Andrew now, is able to approach a Cast Member, seek a return time and walk away knowing he will be able to return at a later time to enjoy that specific attraction - that's huge for us, as it taught him that not everything is instant. Our biggest challenge now, is convincing him to take off his MagicBands when back home. Yes, that's right 'MagicBands' as he wears one on each wrist, religiously wherever he goes.
