Adult Nightclub Entertainment Aboard the Disney Magic

The re-imagined Disney Magic, the first ship in Disney Cruise Line's fleet, just completed an historic renovation in Cadiz, Spain, and on October 25, 2013 began her first passenger sailing from her new home port in Miami, Florida. Having sailed multiple times on all four ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, I have a knowledge of the vast similarities and subtle differences of each ship.

The ships are designed to evoke a sense of familiarity yet each ship has its' own unique flair. The Disney Magic echoes this sentiment in replicating areas that are popular with patrons, yet Imagineers have added a unique decorating design to the Disney Magic.

My post will focus exclusively the Adult Entertainment aboard the Disney Magic, specifically the lounges and nightclubs  in the Adult Only area called After Hours.

After Hours is comprised of three lounges, two new ones exclusive to the Disney Magic called Fathoms and Keys. The third lounge, O'Gill's Pub has returned as a result of its' popularity on the Disney Fantasy.

After Hours

Located on deck 3 forward this area during the daytime may offer family friendly activities but in the evening it is exclusive to adults.

Fathoms

Located in the After Hours adult only district, deck 3, forward, Fathoms in the evenings, caters to adults. Obviously an ocean inspired club given the name measuring depth, unique adorments with a unique ocean theme can be found throughout. Entertainment that you might encounter would be Krazy Karaoke, Dance Parties and a game called Match Your Mate.

Fathoms features a full bar and serves a wide selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. They also offer liqueurs such as Bailey's Irish Cream, Tia Maria and amaretto di Saronno. Dessert wines are available such as Apple Icewine and they create specialty coffees such as cappucino, espresso, and the popular coffee colada with rum and coconuts. All drinks here have an additional fee.

Keys
Keys is obviously named as the piano bar aboard the Disney Magic and also found in After Hours. Featuring live piano music, an elegant, Art Deco setting awaits. Inspiration for this piano bar emerged from the lounges along Sunset Boulevard, during the Golden Age of Hollywood. It features guest performers and live piano music nightly.
Drinks include a full bar service, cocktails including martinis, champagne and wine. Specialty coffees are also served here and such as espresso, cappuccino and cafe mocha. Keys is the only bar onboard the Disney Magic that serves champagne by the glass.

O'Gill's Pub

O'Gill's Pub made its' debut aboard the fourth and newest ship in the feet, the Disney Fantasy and was so popular among guests, that it was brought back into the re-imagined Disney Magic. It's a sports bar and lounge in the After Hours district. Adult oriented games and activities keep everyone entertained in the evening.

This pub and lounge takes its' inspiration from the Irish neighborhood pubs. You'll find a cozy setting where you can try port beer while you recline in the leather chairs that overlook the sea. Here you'll also find multiple large screen television screens that broadcast live sports. You can also play chess, backgammon and checkers here.

Activities offered here are as follows. There is a College Club Social offered to 18-25 year olds, alcholic beverages are only allowed for people aged 21 and older. A Martini Tasting seminar is offered where people learn what makes a great martini. They also offer a Singles' Mingle for those people travelling alone giving them an opportunity to make new friends.

A full bar is offered here with a large selection of beers, wins and mixed drinks. Specialty drinks here are the Champenoise and the Berrytini. They also offer after dinner liqueurs as well as specialty coffees such as espresso, cappuccino and the famous coffee colada with rum and coconuts. O'Gill's also serves complimentary hors d'oeuvres and snacks throughout the evening.

During the daytime, some of these areas open up to families for games and activities creating fun for all. The drinking age aboard all four ships with Disney Cruise Line is 21 and over.

Beverage Stations Aboard the Disney Cruise Line Ships

One of the many aspects of sailing with Disney Cruise Line that you do not have to worry about, is your beverages. You don't need to buy a soda or water package or wear a wrist band. Most beverages aboard Disney Cruise Line are complimentary.

Disney Cruise Line has twenty-four hour Beverage Stations near the pools and you can have as much as you wish. The Beverage Stations come equipped with soda/water cups and hot beverage, insulated cups, lids and straws. At these stations you'll find an abundance of soda, coffee, fountain water, ice, hot water. For the hot water, they provide a variety of tea and cocoa mixes.

You'll never miss out on the magic and pixie dusting when sailing on the Disney Fantasy because your little girl can be transformed into a princess at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and your little boy can become a pirate at The Pirate's League, for which I will outline in the latter half of this post. Walt Disney Studios Tour, Burbank, California.

Never in a million years did I ever imagine walking the backlot streets of the Walt Disney Studio in Burbank. Yet, there we were over Christmas vacation in December 2011. It was all real, I couldn't stop pinching myself, I was awestruck! I could not believe my eyes or the ground that I walked upon. Just the mere thought of being where Walt Disney was, was enough for me. Looking at the items he touched or dealt with was mind blowing. I was even able to hold.....are you ready for this? Yes, hold a REAL Oscar. Not only a real Oscar, but Walt Disney's Oscar for his Nature Documentary. My whole body tingled, I was shaking with excitement and boy, oh boy did I make sure my hands were clean. I don't know how many times I asked if I should wear gloves. The ever so friendly Cast Member, an Archivist, smiled and said it was okay, bare hands were fine. I was completely BLOWN away! The whole experience began with us pulling up to the security guard booth at Walt Disney Studios in Burban…
